Future’s mixtape run over the past year—along with DS2 and WATTBA—is unlike anything we’ve seen in rap since prime Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane. He’s continually dropped projects that has left fans wanting more without oversaturating the market. Today, Future’s right hand producer, Metro Boomin, took to his Twitter to share some thoughts on Future’s run and gave some advice to other artists on the process.
Metro said that not every artist can drop as many projects as Future, and most should just focus on the quality of one mixtape instead of dropping multiple tapes. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint,” Metro explained. Metro will probably get some backlash for his comments, but he’s speaking nothing but the truth while giving out advice that every young artist should take to heart. “Just take all the hardest songs from the five tapes you plan on dropping, and make one tape full of fire,” he said. Preach on, Young Metro.
